- You
- My name is Laura Siciliano. My talents include napping and eating. My skills are reading, watching documentaries, playing the cello, understanding people's emotions, and being creative. I aspire to have a career in the financial industry. This restaurant would be a side job.
- What are you offering to customers?
- I am offering to customers a great American restaurant in midtown Gainesville. There aren't any breakfast places in midtown, so I think that students and professors alike would really enjoy this new option. It would provide a relaxed environment and great food, along with a friendly staff.
- Who are you offering it to?
- I think that what is special about my business opportunity as oppose to many other people's is that this restaurant would benefit literally everyone in Gainesville. Anyone who would like a new breakfast/brunch/lunch place with great food would benefit. This includes kids, families, students, professors, and Gainesville residents.
- Why do they care?
- Customers care about this opportunity because they want a new place to eat. They would love to see an affordable yet tasty alternative to all of the existing restaurants in midtown. You can never have a good enough breakfast/lunch place.
- What are your core competencies?
- I think that what will set my restaurant apart from everyone else is mostly the atmosphere and the food. I will make the restaurant very clean yet comforting, and cozy like a home. In addition, the food will be incredible. I will hire a great top chef and figure out what foods are the most popular.
I think that all of these five aspects fit together perfectly. I think that I have a great business idea on my hands and that if I were to implement it, it would be very successful. I think that there is a huge need for more breakfast and lunch places in Gainesville in general, and if I put in enough effort to make the atmosphere great and the food even better, there would be no problem drawing a crowd.
Hello Laura,
ReplyDeleteI really like your motivation on making this idea happen. I agree with you that there are not a lot of brunch places in Midtown. However, I'm pretty sure you'll have a lot of competition, since most of the places at midtown are very popular to students. Your restaurant will be limited to breakfast and brunch time whereas all the other restaurant will be open for more hours. I know a very nice place called Bagels and Noodles which is on University Ave and is very popular. So keep an eye on that one and get ideas from it. Good luck :)
Hey Laura,
ReplyDeleteI think a breakfast place at midtown would be fantastic. I really love going out for a nice breakfast and it is ashamed there are not places close by. Midtown is an excellent location because it is near campus and where many students live. I noticed many places around campus have something unique about them so if you could implement something different I think it would be a really good idea!
I like your idea as well. However, I think you will be facing significant competition in the market, also breakfast time might not be the most profitable with college students. You could open up when all the bars close, I know when I younger and went out drinking, my and my friends always went to a dinner on the way home, even when it was out of the way. I don't know if many other restaurants do that in Gainesville, but in Norfolk there was only a couple Taco Bells and that one dinner open that late. ReplyDeleteHey Laura,
ReplyDeleteFirst I want to say that it was funny you put napping as one of your talents. As far as your idea, I am all for it! I am such a food lover and Gainesville has great quality restaurants within driving distance but everything in midtown is more of a quick grab-n-go type of place. I would love to hear more about the type of food you would have to offer at your restaurant and if it ever opens you'll be sure to see me there!
